Qualifications
- B. Tech (preferably Civil Engineering)
- Masters (Transport Planning or related field)
Roles and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will join DC Transportation GDC’s dynamic and energetic team of transport modelers providing traffic consultancy and advisory services to clients in UK, Europe and other international locations.
- Traffic data analysis, trip generation calculations and tabular inputs to reports.
- Under guidance from Senior members, the Graduate Engineer will be involved in development and application of transportation models.
- Provide relevant support services (under guidance) for the preparation of Transport Assessments and Master Plan documents.
- GIS and CAD support as required for the preparation of Transport Modelling Reports
- The hired candidate is expected to take full ownership of project tasks that are delegated to them and be responsible for the quality of outputs (excel files, modelling files, graphics and reports)
- Routine assistance to other team members and Seniors in doing first level quality checks (L1 checks).
- Zeal towards working independently with minimal guidance where required.
- Team player who is keen to accept increasing responsibilities and quickly understands the modelling guidelines as applicable in UK/Europe (and other geographies).
Required Skills
- Candidates with 0-2 years’ experience will be considered.
- Strong understanding of the basic concepts of Traffic Engineering and Transport Planning
- Computer literate with proficiency of MS Word, Excel and Power Point.
- Ability to work on more than one project simultaneously under tight time deadlines.
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge/Familiarity or previous experience with any Transport Modelling tools or computer programming package is advantageous but not essential.
- GIS and/or CAD skills
- Preference may be given to candidates who have previous experience of working in GDC’s or similar offshore modelling units.
