Qualifications
- B. Tech (any field preferably Civil Engineering)
- Masters (Transport Planning or related field)

Roles and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will join DC Transportation GDC’s dynamic and energetic team of transport modelers providing traffic consultancy and advisory services to clients in UK, Europe and other international locations.
- Under moderate guidance, provide technical input on a variety of tasks including but not limited to traffic data analysis, trip generation calculations and tabular inputs to reports.
- Involvement in technical tasks pertaining to development and application of traffic models – Strategic, Micro-simulation or operational.
- Under guidance from Senior members, the Assistant Engineer will provide technical input and graphics support for the preparation of Transport Assessments and Scheme Assessment Reports.
- The hired candidate is expected to take full ownership of all tasks delegated to them and produce clear, coherent and precise outputs (excel files, modelling outputs, report graphics)
- Adhere to GDC quality control procedures and be responsible for quality checks of files, data and models
- Team player who is keen to work independently, but also enthusiastic about mentoring juniors to promote knowledge share and enhance overall team capabilities.
Required Skills:
- Candidates with around 1-3 years’ experience will be considered.
- Strong understanding of the basic concepts of Traffic Engineering and Transport Planning
- Proficiency of MS Word, Excel and Power Point.
- Ideally some prior experience of working in a similar offshore modelling unit or GDC
- Reasonably proficient with at least one of the major transport modelling packages – either Strategic Modelling (VISUM/SATURN) or micro-simulation (VISSIM/ PARAMICS) or Junction Modelling (LINSIG/ JUNCTIONS 9/ SYNCHRO/ SIDRA) or any other modelling tool.
- Ability to multi-task between handling multiple- projects, and still produce quality deliverables within tight timelines
Desirable Skills:
- GIS and/or CAD skills
- Preference may be given to candidates who have previous experience of working in GDC’s or similar offshore modelling units.
- VBA programming or developing scripts to reduce manual input and automate repetitive tasks.
